Labyrinthe des Jeux
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2025, D-house laboratorio urbano opens its doors to the public to present Labyrinthe des Jeux, a project conceived by designer Vito Colacurcio and developed using the innovative Dinamica® suede.
D-house laboratorio urbano, the Innovation Hub of the Pattern Group, stands out for its experimental and pioneering approach to integrating new technologies across the fashion, design and automotive sectors. Through its activities, it promotes projects and visions capable of exploring new technological scenarios through creativity, fostering an ongoing dialogue between research, experimentation and the avant-garde.

During Milan Design Week, Miko Srl — the Italian company that produces Dinamica® suede — meets D-house laboratorio urbano. From this collaboration takes shape Labyrinthe des Jeux, an installation designed by Vito Colacurcio that invites the public to explore a circular space conceived as an evocative labyrinth. The environment recalls the imagery of traditional games, reinterpreted through a contemporary language defined by elegance and innovation.
The project transforms the act of play into a true sensorial and collective experience, through a series of exclusive objects in which Dinamica® suede takes centre stage. This material — with an unmistakably soft, suede-like touch and partially composed of recycled polyester* — demonstrates its extraordinary versatility. The various sets bring memory and innovation into dialogue, highlighting how Dinamica® can express itself not only in the automotive sector, but also in contemporary fashion and design.
*Recycled fibre content varies according to the product and the specific application.
The itinerary devised for the installation leads visitors through a labyrinthine path that progressively reveals a series of unique creations. Once the threshold of the installation is crossed, an immersive space unfolds where colour becomes an element of experimentation: a web of visual and sensorial stimuli from which precious objects emerge, conceived to transform play into an aesthetic experience. Iconic games such as chess, tic-tac-toe, ping-pong, dominoes, bocce and the beloved hopscotch find new interpretation within the project. Each game is reimagined through fine materials and advanced technologies, with particular attention to quality and the value of craftsmanship. In this way, the objects transcend their original playful function to become true décor pieces, capable of enriching spaces and enhancing leisure time.

“In the contemporary world, play has gradually drifted from its most authentic meaning: a moment of sharing, encounter and spontaneity. Today, the experience of play is often individual and filtered through digital devices. The challenge lies in recovering the dimension of interaction,” explains designer Vito Colacurcio.
“With Labyrinthe des Jeux I chose to reinterpret symbolic objects, transforming them into contemporary experiences. I imagined traditional games as elements capable of enriching environments with a new aesthetic identity. The spinning top becomes a support for optical graphics that come alive through movement; tic-tac-toe, originally played on paper, is transformed into a deluxe tray; three-dimensional chessboards arise from the reuse of production offcuts; ping-pong draws inspiration from Vienna cane webbing; the bocce set is designed for indoor environments; dominoes, in an oversized version, capture the attention of every generation. Everything takes shape within a labyrinth that becomes an emotional and reflective path, built on the universal language of beauty and sharing. Dinamica® is the ideal partner to give the project an exclusive and sophisticated character, while the collaboration with D-house has allowed us to fully experiment with emerging technologies, giving life to objects that move beyond the boundaries of aesthetics, function and innovation.”
“This collaboration between D-house and designer Vito Colacurcio brings together apparently distant worlds, generating objects capable of evoking memories of the past,” says Benedetta Terraneo, Business Manager at Miko.
“The value of these pieces lies in their ability to grasp the essence of play and reinterpret it through new forms, proportions, colours and materials. The labyrinth thus becomes an emotional journey that recalls childhood memories and invites visitors to rediscover the gaze of the child each of us still carries within.” The project was coordinated by D-house laboratorio urbano, in the heart of Milan, while the pieces on display were produced by the Pattern Group’s manufacturing hub.
“With Labyrinthe des Jeux we have reinterpreted the concept of play, transforming it into a refined sensorial experience capable of redefining the relationship between design, craftsmanship and technological innovation,” concludes Loreto Di Rienzo, Technology Ambassador. “The collaboration with Miko and Vito Colacurcio made it possible to reread a number of iconic games, elevating them to design objects. Each element tells a story of aesthetic research and attention to sustainability, thanks to the use of quality materials and cutting-edge techniques. The intent is to create objects that go beyond the mere function of entertainment, becoming elements capable of enriching the spaces in which they are placed and offering a new vision of leisure time — one defined by elegance and awareness.”
